October 4, 2005 17:13 - Remember Great Shot?

This was a golf game I introduced to you earlier this year, basically its a golf game on the web.

It's a golf game with a difference, you are playing nearest the pin, you initially get some free shots, then you can buy
more shots, a proportion of what you spend goes to charity, you can even introduce it to your own favourite
charity as a fund raiser.

They have now introduced a practice range where you can hone your skill.

The first competition is now over and the four winners had great time, all of their expenses were paid, they played a round with Fuzzy and John Daly also
put in an appearance.

The four winners also had a go at the "Million Dollar Challenge" to get a hole in one.

Unfortunately none of them made it, probably nerves.

Well folks there is another "Grand Final" in November so you are not to late.

Click on the link below get some free shots and good luck!

October 6, 2005 16:27 - Free Report

If you are among the over 26 million active golfers who feel frustrated, nervous or embarassed at any time on the golf course then this special report is for you.

Discover why more than 200,000 people Quit Golf each year in the US alone and the new solution that will ensure that you never make yourself part of that group.

This revolutionary system produces immediate, life-long, dramatic results. It is changing the face of golf. It is also going to frustrate a heck of a lot of traditional instructors as more and more people realize that they don't need to suffer through difficult and often painfull swing fixes and lengthy series of lessons.

October 7, 2005 15:08 - This weeks Golf Tip

The Fundamental Explosion Shot

It doesn't happen very often but every now and then you hear reports that this or
that professional purposely played his approach shot to a treacherous green into
a greenside trap-in order to be certain of getting down in two shots. I mention
this
not because it is a strategy I would recommend, but it does serve to emphasize
how confident most pros feel about trap shots. For the average golfer, on the
other
hand, this is the shot they fear most of all. They play it with a wavering mind
and
trembling hand. They muffs it, and so it remains the shot they fear the most.

When you are exploding from loose sand, you must play a very firm stroke with a
purposeful follow-through. Your wedge should enter the sand about an inch behind
the ball. It should drive through the sand in a straight furrow some six inches
long.
Or to put it another way, the clubhead continues to plow through the sand for
five
inches or so past the spot where the ball lay. If you stay down over the shot and
concentrate on plowing a straight furrow, I can assure you that you will soon be
on
your way to becoming a confident trap player.

Until next week…good golfing!

October 11, 2005 17:50 - To days quick tip

The Line Drive

The worst thing you can do when chipping is to allow the
wrists to break as you make contact with the ball.

It is possible to keep the wrists firm just by concentrating
on doing so, but I recommend that you try this simple drill:
Adopt your normal stance at address and imagine that a line
extends from your left shoulder directly down to the
clubface.

If you concentrate on keeping your left hand exactly on that
line during the chip, your wrists should stay firm and you
should make consistently good contact.

October 12, 2005 16:24 - The Perfect Shotmaking System

Subject: It's crazy I tell you!... I'm not kidding either.

The Perfect Shotmaking System went live this morning and it is getting snatched up left and right!

This amazing package is even bigger than they made it sound and really looks like a Complete Solution to me.

I checked the site just a bit ago and there were still a healthy number of the initial 500 copies left, those are the ones that come with the extra "Playing The Perfect Game System" extra $797 bonus.

Securing the Stance in Traps

Golfers who customarily take pains to obtain a firm, correct stance before
hitting their shots go to sleep frequently in this department when confronted
with recovering from a bunker. I have in mind those times when the ball lies
within the concave dip of a bunker in such a position that the player must stand
a few inches above it or below it.

Although there isn't much that a player can do about his stance if the ball lies
above him—aside from making sure that he is properly balanced—he can greatly
enhance his chances of a good shot when the ball lies below him if he will shovel
his feet into the sand until they are down to the same level as the ball. He can
then move into hitting the shot without "dropping" his swing inches below its
normal plane in order to make the desired contact with the ball or the sand
behind the ball.

The next time you are faced with this predicament, simply take your regular
stance. Then, as you line yourself up and soak in the shot generally, squiggle
your heels back and forth in the sand until your feet and the ball are resting on
the same level. You will probably play better trap shots; and really you should,
since you've made the shot an appreciably easier one.

USGA Handicap System Needs Alterations

All golfers have an occasional hot round when everything is going
right and the putts are dropping. That’s fine and--for handicap
purposes--those rounds should be averaged in with the bad scores.
But to base your handicap on what it’s possible for you to shoot
is unfair and ridiculous. It should be predicated on what you are
likely to shoot, not what is within the realm of a possibility.

The USGA hierarchy--well-intentioned though they may be--has made
the handicap system way too complicated and unrealistic.

At the present time, your handicap is established on what your
potential is, not an average of all the scores you’ve actually
shot.

Your latest handicap rating is based on the lowest 10 of the last
20 scores that you’ve turned in. In other words, your 10 worst
scores are discarded and count for nothing.
